I cant wait for it to get here.
Mine comes tomorrow
Now I just need to sell my Tamron 28-75 f/2.8. Any takers?? $300 shipped
u don't like it?
I bought a 17-70 f/2.8-4.5 sigma. I loved the tamron but it wasnt wide enough. The sigma is my walk around lens and the tokina will be for ultra wide needs.
I got the Tamron with body when I bought it from my brother.
My finger is on the trigger...but I also want to get a flash. Choices...
I know what you mean. I think Im going to get a couple flashes and wireless triggers next This hobby is making me BROKE!
I was about to pull the trigger too, until I realized it wasn't a full frame lens. Now I think I'm going to get the Nikon 18-35 3.5-4.5. Wish it was a faster lens. =(
And I, too, want flashes! =(
i love my tokina
I bought it from adorama through amazon. $463 + $9 shipping. I did find a few used ones, but would just rather have new items.
I'm wondering if the $30 difference between Adorama and B&H is worth the peace of mind...
I heard good things about adorama so I wasnt too worried about it.
check out dealextreme.com for a generic one.
youll hate it, it's a peice of shit
my tokina is probably my most used lens
I bought mine in July '07.
It's a great lens.
So it's a DX lens? Is a DX lens on a Tokina the same as a DX Nikon lens?
No gym for home?
I'm just wondering if it will AF on my stupid crippled D40?
The tokina 12-24 won't AF on the D40.
D40 can only use Nikon AF-S and Sigma HSM lenses to AF.
As far as adorama goes, I hear good things about them as well, until it comes to customer service... I hear they're a BITCH to deal with on the phone, for various reasons.
Assuming your product doesn't arrive defective or anything though, they should be good.
Oh well.....at least I'm saving my pennies for a D300!
you can pick up a D50 or D70(s) for about the same price you sell your D40. Just gotta look around, maybe craigs...?
why didn't you get a sigma 10-20?
I've read a few reviews and they basically say that the Sigma isn't worth the price difference unless you really want to go 10-wide.
But I'm no expert.
i've heard this several times too. granted, I'd love to have that extra 2mm sometimes but overall, the tokina is a great lens.
