I'm taking a basic agility test for a Police Department in Florida that has a Trigger Pull test. I'm not too worried about it but I was wondering if someone can atleast tell me what to expect.

I've never fired a pistol before. I assume it is simple and is just making sure I have grip strength, which I do. The rest of the test I can train for by being physically fit, which I am ready for.

With pistol it's not how hard you can grip that determines accuracy, in fact your accuracy will fall if you grip it hard, so I doubt it's grip strength test. You just have to grip it hard enough so that it doesn't bounce around in your hands when it recoils.

I'm 99% sure it isn't a loaded, firing test... it's just the ability to pull the trigger of a revolver. Atleast I think that is the case from reading the test page online. But I haven't been able to ask a person with first hand experience.

the double action trigger pull on a revolver can be moderately hefty (12lbs or so). It sounds like they want to make sure you can literally pull the trigger that many times.

Ah, that makes sense. Now it sounds like a strength test. I have never fired a double action revolver but shouldn't be too tough.

It's the hardest test you'll ever have to do. I suggest you join a gym and start training...

    Good luck!
