Here is a pic of my main target last weekend. This one I'm happy with and probably can't do much better from my location without buying some special filters. Its about an hour worth of shutter time and a whole bunch of photoshop time to bring out the detail.
Yes this one was taken though my telescope. A lens can see it, but I like it close up.
Its going on the wall in my man cave probably 20x30 maybe smaller depending on how grainy it gets.

I'll try not to flood this forum with my astro stuff. Not real sure if it even fits in here. It is using a camera, but its more geeky:)

These pics were already critiqued by people in an astronomy forum and I figured I'd show some of my good stuff so far to you guys. Maybe someday I'll have a daytime shot worth showing.

Trifid Nebula is a large gas cloud in the constellation sagittarious (sp?) It should be in wikipedia. Might be under M 20 (the messier designation for it.)

The set up is a Celestron C-8 Schmidt-Cassagrain type telescope (short fat tube with 2 mirrors and a corrector lens) on a CG-5 computerized mount. I use a canon 40D on it for imaging.

As for resolution, I'm not completely sure what specs to give. Its a bunch of RAW files stacked and I applied a processing technique to enlarge/enhance the image that expands it out to around 9500x7500 or something huge and its also at 300dpi. I cropped the interesting part of course at 100% to keep the same res. Is that what your looking for?
