this months Pop Photo has a picture and how to. Basically drop a strawberry into carbonated water and get a pic. Was an rainy day so I couldn't get the shutter speed or aperture to where they needed to be. 2 stop underexposed with raw, brought back up with LightRoom

Harder then it seems, especially when your doing it by yourself. Will def try again when the sun comes out

Pretty neat. I like how the one in the magazine shows the splash of where the strawberry went in.

Cool idea for a mag. Show people how to do interesting pictures and see if they can copy it.

Very cool. That'd be something nice to have on your portfolio for sure.

how many tries did it take, did you have some sort of motion trigger or did you time it?

Tie fishing line to pencil & strawberry
Suspend strawberry in a container filled with carbonated water.
    Place in freezer.
    Profit!

I just held the strawberry down with my hand and manual focused on it, then dropped it and held the trigger in high speed mode and take about 3 pics per drop. I dropped it about 20 times, so about 60 pictures. Trying different shutter speeds and apertures every now and then.

Most were out of focus, or partially out of frame. The focus slice was too small at that aperture and distance. If it woulda been sunny I coulda got some better pics, and it woulda been alot easier.

go for it and post the results. Its a real easy setup. Clear container, any kind of clear carbonated liquid, blue background, piece of aluminum foil under everything to reflect the light up, strawberry and tripod.
