I went and bought some 40g Target/Match Ammo for my Ruger 10/22 this morning at Walmart and still having same issue I had before. Gun was fired about 100rds before I changed the barrel, and now it pulls the round off the magazine and stops with the bolt half way open and the round not chambered. I pull the bolt back and it ejects the round and does the same either way. I took it back apart and checked and barrel is on and aligned from what I can tell.
THis happens with factory rotary mag and my TI-25 mag I would like to use.

Anyone have any ideas, its frustrating me... could it be still the ammo?

IB dirty table or UFO Video is clearer :mamoru:

    aint that some shit..

Now I did put a round in the barrel and I had to nudge it in there.. I wonder if the barrel is just like ultra tight or something I dont know

    What do I do

10/22 high-cap mags are notoriously shitty.

have you tried a factory 10 round mag?

    (shoulda got a marlin :mamoru:)

this is the top of the line high cap magazine, but yes, same thing happens with the factory 10rd rotary.. the barrel is just so tight :naughty:

First you have to test with some decent ammo. Get some CCI mini mags. They are very uniform. If it won't feed mini mags then you probably have a problem. I assume you tried adjusting your tactical inc mags to change the feeding angle.

Last thing it to open up the chamber. On my 10/22 I opened my GM barrels chamber to sporter dimentions.

I bought the target stuff I figured it would be uniform.. I did adjust the mag feeding angle and with no luck.. I am about to call GM and ask them if they have any ideas

Spoke with Green mountain and they said they are sending me a prepaid return label, they will take it back, and open up the tollerance for me said its probably just a really tight barrel and then send it back to me.

GM is pretty good. They swapped out a barrel for me when I called them. Didn't do any good, the chamber is just too tight for certain ammo when fed through high caps. Use better ammo and factor 10 rounders and it worked pretty good. Of course for my needs this did not cut it as I was using my 10/22 to race on steel plates.

Once I recut the chamber it is 100% with mini mags and federal american eagles (cheap stuff). Being a 22 it still is picky about ammo.

The reamer is pretty simple. Just use a hand tap and it's self guiding so you can't screw it up.

But yeah, if you're having the same problem with multiple types of ammo, and the problem didn't start until you put on a new barrel...
