I am loooking at getting PDA with phone capabilities soon and I didn't know what really seperates the Treo vs. Black Berry. Anybody who has either let me know what you like and dislike about it.

Treo is like carrying a wireless pentium with you....a BB is like a commodore 64 with a long extension cord

blackberry - email in your pocket, the 8700 is a great device for phone and email.
Treo (and any other Palm/Windows based device) - office in your pocket. Send/Receive attachments, edit, email, send out. PPC supports push email now too.

Crackberry- E-mail > Treo. Also comes in Quadband.
Treo- Doesn't come in quadband, to my knowledge, but, like said earlier, is a multimedia Swiss Army Knife.

The Treo is an HTC product...like all their products, they're quad band. Treo sucks at multimedia...but that's just me. :)

You can still get your hotmail/gmail/yahoo/pop3 etc pushed to your device too. If you email a lot then yeah, do a blackberry, otherwise its not worth it.

w/ hotmail/gmail/yahoo is it still really "push" email? or is it just checking for new email every few minutes?

I'm actually thinking about going with the Treo due to the lack of 'need' to get a ton of email pushed. You can do more with the Treo. I'm picking up the Sprint treo 700. EVDO. I guess it flys.

Blackberrys are awesome in there own way too...just think what you really want and need to do...then look at the options. The Blackberry is more into the 'Must have email as soon as I get it' and the Treo is more like the 'I need to surf the net and take pics...edit documents and keep up with my check book, Etc.'

I use to work at Cingular and have used them both. Love each one for different reasons.

Can you ssh, ftp, read usenet, and chat on irc on your blackberry? if not, you are embarassing yourself with any attempt to defend your useless block thats inferior to my Treo.

    $10/month unlimited data xfer FTW.
