Anyone have a treadmill at home or could recommend what kind to get? Budget-wise i'd like to keep it under $600. I dont need a bunch of gadgetry like the mp3 plug ins or anything like that. I plan on using it three times a week. I'm not worried about noise as it will live in the basement with my weights.

Ya, but not so much in the snow and ice or the 3000% humidity we get in maryland. :hs:

Working on it, i decided to get into shape back in august and have been lifting 3 times a week since and i need to throw in cardio more regularly. Right now i'm running outside a couple times a week when the weather isnt shitty.

I'm working on getting a job that requires me to be in better shape than my current cubicle job, so thats been my motivation to this point. The cardio part of the entrance exam is the only thing i cant do yet.

Thats fine, i'd rather run inside. I'm running outside now when i can, but if its 40* and raining all week, theres not much i can do about it. :dunno:

i would get your cardio going on a regular basis before you by anything. if you are lifting 3 times a week why not do cardio after

I've been running on my non-lifting days to spread things out. If I was lifting at a gym then that would be one thing since the treads are right there but i can acomplish want i need to with the weights i have at home (bench, pull downs, rows, flys, deads, squats, etc).

I'm not that worried about 'not sticking with it' because once i get the new job i'll be required to stay in shape.

 Word, i was doing those when i first started the whole endevor. The entrance test is running on a treadmill so i dont think they'll let me sub in jumping jacks. Though i guess cardio is cardio?

Nordic Track has a treadmill for $600 that the ex-wife bought, piece of shit in my opinion but not the worst thing in the world. It was noisy that's for sure

With moderate cutting this summer I saw 10x better results running outside in 2 weeks than ~6 weeks on a treadmill
