There is an interesting issue occurring right now in Vancouver and I wanted to get some insightful opinions from people here. Here is the article: http://www.straight.com/article-238663/trans-activist-opposes-pharmacy-ban Now the question I raise is who is 'right' in this situation. As a note to people here, please keep to the validity of the decision NOT the validity of transgender. Personally I see nothing wrong with this (I would love to be proven wrong). Here is my reason. If this pharmacy is tailored towards genetically born women, then you would expect that the people they hire would be well versed in issues specific to female bodied individuals. Now if an individual came in who was male bodied but identified as female, would the pharmacy really be of any help....or the best help? Therefore, I see nothing wrong with this decision on the surface. Now, if they do not provide services to female bodied individuals who identify as male, then I see it as a problem. Then again, I would suspect that these individuals would feel unwelcomed and looked down upon at the pharmacy. Thoughts people?
