We shall be on the front lines....first to see it, Triumph or Travesty...
Got my ticket here for the 28th.
A good mate just posted this...
He is an uber TF fan so it might be a little biased, but still, very positive.
I never had doubts it would be good.
and Shia LaBeouf was awesome in Disturbia... he is also the only reason why my GF is going to transformers with me
I think it'll be good, Michael Bay is a bit of a chach, but most movie directors are.
best movie evar. bar none. best 2.5 hours of my life , well almost.
Sweet Jebus...speechless am I, about this movie.
So was it good?
I won't be seeing it until probably the 4th.
Yes really, it was even better than i thought it would be, and i thought it would be good
No, not really.
It was good, but not "the best movie ever".
8/10 special effects, 4/10 plot, 2/10 nudity, 8/10 laughs, 4/10 acting (8/10 for LaBoeuf).
That averages to 5.2/10, and that's about how I felt about the movie. It was entertaining, but it was also predictable and had some major plot holes. It's pretty much your average mid-summer sci-fi blockbuster.
Go see it, have a good time, but don't expect to walk out of the theater with the same feeling that Apollo 13, Shawshank, SPR, or Super Troopers left you with.
Two weeks from now you won't remember many quotes, and a year from now it will be another cool movie you saw in 2007.
I do want to second the idea that Shia LaBeouf (sp?) has star power. That kid better have a good agent because he's worth watching, so I hope he manages his career well.
I give it 9 out of 10, and since I give most movies about a 6, that's damn good. I agree it had holes, and yes, I would dearly have loved to see Megan Fox wearing less, but I thought the special effects were top notch, and the movie had the same sort of pop-culture charisma that the original series did. I WILL remember quotes, because I will likely see this movie at least once or twice more in the theatre, and without a doubt will buy the DVD, this is the sort of movie you can go back to about once a year, watch again, and feel exhilerated. I thought it was one hell of a ride, and even got misty eyed in places. Two freakin' thumbs UP.
So basically it's an entertaining effects reel. Cool. I can enjoy it if I know ahead of time and don't actually expect a story.
People who like to Nitpick movies might not like it so much. But for the general movie goers it is pretty damned good.
Saw it yesterday.
Perfect movie for the fan that watched it 20 years ago and let it drift into childhood memories. Having Peter Cullen back connected to everyone in the crowd. The first moment you hear his speech during the intro a certain nostalgic euphoria comes over you. Overall, I'd give it a solid B because it's exactly what summer popcorn flicks should be.
It almost brought a tear to my eye
Well that was pretty awesome. I hate to admit it, but there's finally a Michael Bay film that I loved.
Of course, like I said before, this was tailor-made for him. Giant robots fighting, lots of shit blowing up, and little need for story beyond "there's the bad guys, there's the good guys, and there's the thing they're fighting over".
His girlfriend was fucking hot.
