Is it possible to transfer files from a CD to a certain place on the hard drive using only the command prompt? I'm missing a couple files necessary for Windows to boot(won't even boot in safe mode, last known good config. won't work and there was no system restore points) and the only thing I can get to to manipulate files is the command prompt. So is there a way for example to take a .dll file that's on a CD and move it to the system32 folder on the hard drive in cmd.exe?

If you're able to get a command prompt, then you should be able to do a windows repair.

Wow. I guess you didn't grow up using DOS, huh?

    C:\> copy D:\foldernamehere\filenamehere C:\foldernamehere\
