Until manufacturers actually start thoroughly increasing their levels of these I really don't see the point in caring. It's something to look out for, but nothing to get upset over yet. The second article states that the extremely small portions currently used are nothing to worry about, and it's only speculation that manufacturers "may" start upping levels to compensate for loss of trans fat or as cost-cutting measures.

Unless the fatty acid chains are themselves hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated this is a bunch of made up hype. The article admits that the fatty acids "COULD BE HYDROGENATED" and the manufacturers "MAY NOT TELL YOU IF THEY ARE" but seriously this is shit. Mono and di glycerides are naturally occuring.

well lets look at the majority of posts here on OT, why people question if X food or alc with lower test, or Y supp will increase it.

increase of hdl/lowering ldl = higher test, and dec hdl higher ldl lowers it.

now if you avoid this food product, you can enjoy your alcohol or X more
if you avoid this product, you dont need to purchase Y to increase the test you lost from the product

im finding mono-glycerides in many loaf bread types similar to wonder bread, which these brands used to list hydrogenated oils...

go for the better tasting and better quality bread, such as an artisan bread baked at the store (usually these have harder crusts, and are not vacuum sealed packaged)

    its comes down to economics.

for instance guy at my work buys this 500$ bottle of algae that releases stem cells... yet he uses crappy plastic coffee creamer every day. there would be no need to by the supp if he avoided the creamer. so you dont gain many benefits of the supp you purchase if your eating like shit...
