    About a year ago, the new hotness was everyone was checking out westside, max-ot etc. I have a very simple question: who stuck with it, saw successes etc? Who has knowledge they can put forth about it?

    I stuck with westside and have seen amazing gains, i am fat, but i have some decent mass and will compete in december.
    S 205 x3 ish---> 500+
    B 265 slopy ---> 285
    D 245 ---> 500+
    I know some shit about westside, but i am no expert, there are people on other forums with far greater knoledge.

    Hmm. Very nice. West Side was the specific one I was going to try. Infact, I am on elitefts right now about to order the beginners manual for it. What other forums would you recommend frequenting? I like OT and all, but I am trying to see progress, not just bullshit :hsd:

    if you want to get stronger, beginners westside is a good way to train...

    I started training westside in 2003 when I got done playing college football. In about 1 year my numbers did this:
    b: 365 -> 505
    s: 600 -> ~780 in briefs off a low box
    d: i never deadlifted -> 700

    when I isay i didn't dl it was because I was doing cleans and clean pulls, snatches and snatch pulls from the floor 2X a week for 3 years. The first time I pulled I sldl'ed 500 pretty easy.

    Westside is based on solid principles and science. It is a perfect program for a powerlifter. Recently a lot of people in pl community have gone to a more Bulgarian approach to training but to me that is mainly a reflection if the gear becoming too much of a factor.

    I would also recommend you take the gpp part extremely seriously.

    Well the way I view it, I want to gain alot of strength. Size will come with strength, and once I have some solid strength I am sure I could hammer out some mass to look good in a bathing suit afterwards. My pm inbox has been cleaned out btw.

    I got hurt and took a break from late December to late March. I stuck w/ it half assed from March August and took my squat from 185x2 to 275. Bench from 205-240. Deadlift stayed the same since I'm a pussy.

    I tried not being a pussy anymore and it's worked out great. I generally stick with the standard template, but I use a squat day in linear style for my ME lower. From August, squat is up to 415x2, bench is who knows where, and deadlift is up to 415. I'm focusing on trying to get my back, shoulders, and tris up to par rather than worrying too much about my bench numbers. And by that statement, I mean that my form is horrible and I'm a weak vagina

    Not to sound one dimensional, but aesthetically -- how did sticking with WS affect your phsyique?

    you can modify it but it isn't designed to promote hypertrophy soley. If anything half odf the work you do is aimed at increasing motor neural activation. But thats where you would modify it. There are many articles written on it. I don't know really because I am not a bodybuilder, wether or not it works well for that purpose. I would train with low volume high frequency if I were to BB and I would throw in some volume training every now and then.

    Alright I suppose. My legs have grown about 2 inches. I actually see a little lat beginning to poke out. I've neglected my shoulders for a long ass time, so I've only recently started overheard pressing, which has added a little bit of size. The guys from Westside wont have a lot of of direct shoulder stuff in their logs, but that's mainly because they already are strong enough in that area. They just have to do enough work to maintain that strength.

    The thing I like about it is that you can do pretty much whatever you want. In my case, I only do 1 dynamic bench workout a month. Why? I'm weak as fuck and have pretty much no muscle. I feel that I would benefit more from a rep day, as in 4x6 sets at like 70% or something like that. Or heavy triples. I'm slowly adding more volume in w/ the accessory stuff as well.

    If you ever have any questions, feel free to PM or hit me up on AIM. I spend way too much time reading about this stuff, and frankly, I'm sick of talking with vettedude all the time.

    I had to cut it short due to injuries...my right shoulder on heavy wide grip prone rows on wk1 and my right knee from doing an improper 225lb OLY squat after I had gotten my max on my last week.

    Floor press - 155x2->195x2 (8 weeks)
    Squat - High box 295x2->295x2 low box (10 weeks)
    Deadlift - Lockouts 365x2->365x2 full rom (4 weeks)
    GMs - 95lbs ->165lbs (12 weeks) ...4x10's, I didn't want to max out on these

    Overall I did 12 weeks of the full program

    Didn't do Westside, but I did do Chris's routine for 3 or 4 months. Went up between 40 and 50 lbs in each of the big three, and gained a little size. I was quite happy w/ the results
