was wondering how much you guys are paying for your different types of training? i plan on starting up BJJ over break...it's around 60 a month...and the class is taught by a BJJ black belt and another brown belt...a little expensive but it's my best option right now

Free, because my instructor is my friend. Now if he'd only get settled with his job so we can train more often.

I get charged 20/month for judo (yeah yeah i know) 3x a week. My instructors don't get paid, the fees are to pay for the use of the facilities and other overhead. It's nice cuz the instructors teach because they love the sport.

It's not a mcdojo either, which was one of the most important things in choosing the school. It helps that i'm friends with the head instructor too :big grin:

I train at Johns Hopkins University, in the bjj club. We have a purple belt instructor come down twice a week (we meet 4 x a week). The benefits of running a club like this is that we can roll as much as we want w/o people restricting us, but the bad part is that we are very limited in training partners.

Yup, to my suprise we do more ground work than we do throws. My back hurts like hell though, i suck cuz i can't land properly. Anyway, I'm diggin judo a lot right now! when my instructor saw me on the ground, i heard him whispering "this guy watches too much ufc" cuz he saw me doing all sorts of crazy shit....... and reminded me that i can't do any of that shit until i have a coloured belt :mamoru:

Muay Thai and other kickboxing techniques - $70 per month.

    That gets you:
3 advanced 1 hour classes per week
3 beginner 1 hour classes per week (more of an aerobics class, many middle aged women)
you can come in during the day and lift weights and hit the bags

Jeremy Horns school is $85/month for unlimited classes. Twice a day M-Th and once on Saturday. The bonus is not only training with him but with all of the other MFS guys and various folks training with Jeremy for upcoming UFC fights.

$125 a month for us both on our family membership, otherwise it's about $100 for a single person.
$70/hr or $300 for 5 hours of private lessons.

$125 includes unlimited classes which on my schedule is 2x Muay Thai, 2x BJJ, 2x NoGi, 1x MMA class, 1x Boxing weekly.
