I ended up with an extra AR (Olympic Arms CAR-15 with a milled receiver) and 1K rounds on ammo.

(got rid of an old car, took the AR in a partial trade)

I'd rather have an AK. I realize Olympics don't have the best rep, and I'm wondering what would be a good AK equivalent to trade for it.

I'll throw the ammo in to sweeten the deal for a better AK.

A nice Bulgarian AK would probably be worth about the same.

    Thank you.

Is there a hierarchy of brands/nationalities (all conditions being equal?)
    Bulgarian/Israeli/Chicom etc...

From top to bottom, I'd say Bulgarian/Arsenal, Polish, Hungarian, Chinese, Yugoslavian, Romanian. I probably forgot some but those are the main ones. For the most part, they're all AKs and they should all be good to go. I'd stay away from home builds unless you know the builder well.

AZEX, Red Jacket are both good builders. I'd steer clear of Century.

I'd swap chinese and polish around, besides the pole rifles all depend on who built it no complete Pole rifles were ever imported. SAIGA/VEPR would be high on the list too. Romy and Yugo can swap positions depending on builder ie. Red Jacket Romy build > Century M70

Do you want 7.62 or 5.45?

You're welcome. I agree with Squid, it depends a lot on who built it.

For that trade combo, I think you'd just about be able to get any AK you wanted.

Most people with nice AK's will likely low ball you over the Oly thing because they are cocksuckers. I'd sell all that shit separately and go shopping.

A fully converted Saiga, with a barrel cut to 14.5"with a perm. AK-74 brake, and LaRue optic setup was what I was always wanting to build, and could probably be doable with your trade.
