Well I currently have a 2001 Pontiac GP GTP, its got 80,000 on it and the transmission is acting up. The shop basically put it to me that its not throwing a code so they can't do anything. Its not broken enough for anyone to do anything to it. I have a warranty on it but they suck and won't do anything.

I currently have a loan on the car which sucks but oh well, now I found a 05 GP GTP Comp G with 40,000 on it for a decent price. Should I look into buying that or deal with the fact that my cars falling apart and I might have to replace a transmission.

05 Grand Prix. I don't think anyone actually likes the G5s.

Do a few neutral drops, that'll fix the "can't find a problem" issue :hsugh:

Neutral Drop Bleach Burnouts with the EBrake!

Or do some serious brake torquing and get the converter slipping and roast the trans fluid ;)

oh I have a few plans but I'd rather not shell out almost $2000 for a new trans. If it comes down to it I will and I'd probably happy as hell with a new transmission. I'd end up going with a tripleedgeperformance.com transmission. Its built for low 13, high 12 second 1/4 passes. But on top of that I'd end up goign with 3.29 or 3.69 gears and a 7/8 chain. This would take care of me having to worry about breaking the transmission in the future. I guess my best bet is to stop wasting money on the transmission and just save money for a new one. Its the only thing I hate about this car, I wish it was a manual but a built automatic isn't so bad either. Maybe I'll get some videos of the transmission acting up and just being a POS. On the highway if I let off the gas the converter unlocks and has to lock back up again when I get on the gas. No other car I've driven has ever done this. People keep telling me its normal and I really don't think so.

If you have a warranty on it, why would you have to spend $2K?

Because they won't cover the simple shit, they won't cover the blow motor resistor or the windshield washer pump. Plus I only have 10,000 miles left and I'm sure by the time someone really happens I'll be out of warranty and they don't give a shit if I've brought it in multiple times for the issue before.

What's a neutral drop again? Is that where you redline the engine in neutral then shift into drive?

lol, so I think its starting to slip ha ha ha. Oh god I hate this transmission so much. This weekend I'll be fixing the blower motor resistor, and the washer pump. then I'll give her a once over and polish her up real nice. I'm also going to rewire my subs as I think I have them wired wrong.

Take it to the strip, drop your tires down to 29 psi (l/f) and 27.5 (r/f). It'll launch nice & straight; this works on both of my GTPs and the S/C'd Tempo.

Give 'er hell...heat the tires up good & drive it like you hate it.

The trans should no longer be a 'minor, non-covered' problem.

I'll see what I can do this weekend, my parents might be borrowing my car over the weekend so it needs to be fine for them. So when it comes back we'll see what I can do to it.
