Alright for some reason my platoon sergeant thought it would be a good idea for me to volunteer for some Toys for Tots stuff.

All he told me was to be at the Reserve Station at 0600 on Sunday morning, and to wear a warming layer under my cammies.

Anyone know what i'll be doing?

You will be sorting toys in a donated warehouse with no heat for about 10 hours straight.
    Good Luck!
Tell the I&I staff to use lube next time!

Don't you get a "volunteer service ribbon" or something like that for being a part of it?

I think details like Toys for Tots or whatever similar thing your unit or branch does are about the only ones to violate the "never volunteer for anything" rule for. When I was at Fort Bliss we had a similar thing called Operation Santa, it was the only detail I ever volunteered for and probably the only one I ever enjoyed being on.

I did alot of that when I was on recruiters assistance.

People were really generous. I'm sure the kids loved the toys.
