My wife was pretty skeptical... she though she was going to end up with another basketcase in the backyard like my '82. :o

Lifted and re-done an 85 solid axle Toy.

I miss that truck. Centerlines on MT 33"s.

I was thinking recently that I want to get another nice rust-free 4x4 Taco (2001-2004 Model) to have on hand in case my current one ever goes down.

I'm not a big fan of the 2005+ model

I had a 94 that I really loved. Bought it with 85k, sold it with 185k, and that guy sold it last year with 215k on it. Still going strong

I thought old toyota trucks were built pretty solid and don't rust out?

I got an 86 mazda with no rust I think they just built shit better back then

There was an issue with my 85. We tried to take out what we could but it came back. Major rust issues.

That was always the biggest problem with the early small Yotas.... they rusted bad. They run until the frame/body rusts out from under you

here's my 82 when I first got it.

I managed to find brand new, stamped steel fenders and a hood, for about $200. I'm have a few small holes to patch in the cab and frame, and then it will get the new bodywork and a OD Green paintjob with black wheels and a black flatbed and rollcage.

Still deciding if I should go with the All Pro Extreme lift (6"), or just keep it near stock with a fresh suspension and minor lift (2" or so). I don't have anywhere to do any real rock crawling here, and I want it driveable..
