is there to bowdown about? its an iphone without the phone. hardly any innovation. get off the bandwagon.
Price isn't too much to be thrilled about either...$299 for 8 gigs
It's cheaper than getting an iphone and you don't have to get at&t service
who says you have to get ATT service? been out of the caves lately? heard of the iPhone unlocking by multiple teams? and according to engadget the iphone is now $399 for 8 GB.
what is with people and the steve jobs bandwagon?
Um stfu. If I don't want to fucking go through the process of unlocking the iPhone, don't need the phone part of the iPhone, like my existing phone, or just want a cool new iPod I'll buy a fucking iPod Touch. Why do you care? What the fuck does it matter to you how I spend my money. Stop acting like a pussyhurt little bitch.
BTW, how the fuck are you going to come to the Mac Shack and ask why we all like Steve Jobs? You can GTFO.
go back to lurking.
Yeah but you don't get a phone feature with iPod touch.
innovative? no. sweet? yes. it's a fucking iPod with wi-fi. how can you not want it?
and why would you come into mac shack and ask why we like mac products?
I wonder if there will be anyway to do POP email on the new ipod.
If i could use the mac mail program like the iphone has, I would be all over it.
doesn't look like it. only webmail through safari
will 3rd party apps be able to work on it ? I would assume so since its based off the same OS as the iPhone
Looks cool, what is the battery life like? I bet it goes hella fast when you're streaming over the interwebs.
Can it stream from shared iTunes libraries on the lan?
They should make a web interface for Mail.app, that would be sweet
they do on the iPhone
it looks kinda big imo
although, i found the 5th gen ipod to be a little large for my tastes also. i'm picky.
battery life claims to be about the same as the new nano...i'm going to totally doubt that. if you can play a video in widescreen, you will never get 5hrs of battery life.
however, there seems to be plenty of room for additional icons, so i'm sure people will hack the shit of out it and we will get what we want.
very cool how it has safari, i'm hoping page loading times will be faster than the iphone, but i'm guessing they will be comparable. i wonder if it supports wifi with LEAP, if not, then it can't be used at my college. it reminds me of the nokia 770
all i want is this:
a. able to put google maps on it... even if when you are in your car it doesnt have gps or a connection or anything, i just want it to at least have a simple map of my town saved on the harddrive that i can naviagte
b. while in my apartment, i want it to be able to connect to my wifi network and access my music file on my computer so i can connect it to my home theatre and stream songs from my 100 gig harddrive
its about 30% thinner than the iphone too
yeah, it looks so thin
I want one, but I'm waiting to see how hackable it is.
i would hope and assume, very
no iCal?? thats stupid
it has it
