ok, im sure I will get flamed for this question but if anyone could please help me out that would be great. I have a macbook pro and love it but I have no clue how to use a torrent on this thing. Honestly I dont really even know how to use one on any computer. Everytime I try to download something off a torrent it tries to download through limewire but I know this is not supposed to be the right way to do it. Can anyone give me a basic walk down on how to use a torrent and which ones will work on os x. Thanks in advance. Sorry for my NOOBness.

download a torrent to your desktop
right click > get info (or apple + i)
on the bottom where it says "open with application" or whatever it says, choose transmission. then press "apply to all"

you should be good to go.

don't forget to play with the preferences

quicktime can't play a lot of files.

download VLC media player, it can play just about anything you need.

Or download and install Perian. It will install the codecs to play most stuff in Quicktime.

little snitch notifies you whenever a program is trying to access the web. its good to use if you're going to be pirating software so that the application doesnt "phone home" and tell the company your using an illegal serial number.

i downloaded the snitch program, but I am not sure if some of the programs it shows are programs I should be worried about or not. I dont really have any illegal stuff on my computer. I know what some of the stuff is like adium and safari but there are three others on there right now (ntpd, lookupd, and mDNSResponder) and I do not know what they are.

if you don't have illegal stuff than you have nothing to worry about
ntpd, lookupd and mDNSResponder are all part of OS X, don't worry about them.
