isn't this the way it always goes? looking at getting my first hand gun and I'm drawn to the g19 g30, the xd sub 9mm and the compact .45, and the sig 229 or 250. I've shot all of them except for the sigs and I'll either fix that this month or next. the only thing i'm not sure of is the DA/SA on the sig but the DAK maybe better for me.

Go shoot something, first. Also if not for carry I would get a fullsize over a sub and definitely wouldn't get a 45 (unless your baller status)

this will be a carry gun and I've put rounds through every one of them except for the sigs as I said that will change this month or next. I'm leaning toward the xd 9mm Sub

9mm is the most cost effective in terms of range time. I shot an XD 40 sub a few years back and it was very nice, I bet the 9mm wouldn't be much different.

G19 is the most versatile of the ones you've posted. Easily concealable, high capacity, ability to cut down the grip to G26 length and use both sets of mags..

i like the g19 but the lack of a secondary safety is making me nervous

  7. Once you get some quality time in with it, the lack of an external safety is not only a non-issue, it's a benefit. It just takes time for people who are new to handguns to get used to it.

the xd has a grip safety and the same kind of trigger that glock has. which is nice for me

Can u think of a time when you can pull the trigger and not have a grip on it?

not really but it still makes me nervous. this isn't saying I won't get the glock at some point it just may not be my first gun
