Outer Limits was really just a take off on the same idea as Twilight Zone.

I don't get how Buffy shaped scifi though. It was already pretty well shaped by the time the show came along.

(Resisting the urge to comment on SMG's shape. :mamoru:)

Well, maybe they think that Buffy inspired Angel and Charmed?

I was thinking, I don't see how Lost shaped SciFi . . . has something come out that you could immediately tell was inspired by Lost?

Maybe they should have called it SciFi's current top 20? :mamoru:

I'm surprised Dark Angel didn't make on there over Batman and Buffy. I think it was more SciFi than those 2.

    This list is bogus

condiering at least a handfull of the list isnt even SCIFI.. its either suspense/horror/fantasy..

Its probably some "kid" of a real scifi fan that wrote this list.. and that person needs to be spanked!!If I was that persons parent.. they would be getting a whooppin!!

Of the shows I know, these should not be on the SHAPED SCIFI list.
    15. Lost—wow..shaped SCIFI? Don’t think so
    14. Kolchak: The Night Stalker—loved it ,but not SCIFI
    4. Buffy the Vampire Slayer-Not SCIFI
    3. The Twilight Zone-Loved it!! most episodes were supernatural in nature, not SCIFI

    :werd:

Hell, I'd even have to say Airwolf had more SciFi than some of those shows.

Battle of the Planets, great cartoon but I always thought Star Blazers a better cartoon series for sci fi.

The Prisoner was a very funky series. Another one I would like to see rebroadcast.

because as I said.. this list is BS.. whomever wrote this list doesnt know SHIT about SCIFI.
The difficulty you would run into in writting an accurate list is the is the whole East Vs West of and the influence of SCIFI. Ecspecially when your talking TV shows. There are a few older ones and a few newer ones that cross the great ocean,so to speak, but very few.
then you would also have to determine if you were to go strictly SCIFI or include shows that had a mixture of supernatural.

    1. Star Trek
    2. Dr who
    3. The prisoner
    4. The incredible Hulk
    5. Batman

man. I still want put Ultraman up there:)

Those would be pretty close to the top 5 IMHO that have spanned the oceans, were very influential, were mostly or all SCIFI.
Writers that influenced SCIFI would be easier, and movie would be pretty easy to. I truley think that author of that list just bit off more than he/she could chew and just knocked something out .
