my notebook has an athlon-xp-m on its board, but everytime im playing games (even very old games (AoEII, Allied General1), the fan is getting louder and louder...especially in school it is very wiry ;P .

Is there any tool on earth with the ability to decrease the power of my notebooks cpu manualy? Because such old games are running perfect with a ~ 600 mhz cpu, and do not need the power of 1,7 screaming ghz's.

They're charging for it now though. It may be worth it for you though if it does what you need.

i tried cpuidle a few weeks ago but its not working the way that i want, i only want a ability to throttle cpu's frequency in three steps, like 600 mhz 1,1 ghz and 1,7 ghz
