im 22 and haven't gone hunting yet so i took the course so i can get my license.

included in the course was some skeet shooting with a 20ga or 410 depending on persons preference. 3 skeet were launched and i expected to hit none but hit them all  having to sit in the class all day sucked but that lightened my mood a bit

i know its nothing special but im happy

My class wasnt really exciting either, except we had a CO come in and that was cool. The class was almost all kids, so I got to ask alot of good questions of the CO. He was pretty cool, glad to have a CO in my county that is understanding of how hunting really works.

I knew the guy in the sporting goods dept. @ wal-mart, so I didn't have to take the safety course to get my hunting license.

I took it as a class in middle school, half the class was health then the 2nd half was hunters safety.

I know how that sounds, but I am a very safe gun handler, and I only go hunting with experienced hunters.

i dont know about your state, but they frown on that in mine. i dont remember the punishment exactly, but im sure its more than a verbal warning.

I had a friend who took hunters safety and STILL didn't understand how the safety on a shotgun worked. While we were shooting skeet he leaned his gun against a pole, loaded, with the safety off. :ugh:

shit. shotguns kinda scare me, there is no "near miss" with a shotgun. being downrange from a shotgun is not good, b/c you will probably get pelted
