Ah the girl wanted to tag along today as I went to the range. Hell if you're comming with me, you're shooting. :naughty:

I'll be damned, first time shooting and she was loving it. :wiggle:

Next time I'll get some vids. Nice range, but I only brought my glock 23 and finished up my .40 I had left over from last week

    First her:

And before anyone asks, I used those targers so she could see what he hit real easy

And also -- my grouping is shitty, I know.

    ughhhh....I have the same problem.

She'll go with me, she'll watch me shoot, she doesn't have a problem with me owning/shooting, and she's even helped clean guns before, but she WILL NOT actually shoot a gun because she's scared of getting hurt. WTF

Just explain to her how her being behind the gun lessens her chances of being shot by it.

Tried...it's her mom, she's super controlling, and super paranoid. They never had a laundry dryer or dishwasher becuase her mom was afraid they would burn the house down (they being the units, not the kids). And the first time I loaded the dishwasher she stared at it for a second, scared it was going to combust into flames.

She's getting better, but her mom still controls her fears from across the country via email and telephone.

When I went out there, God knows why, she told her mom I brought my gun and she said "HE HAS A GUN?!?! HE BETTER NOT BRING IT TO MY HOUSE, I DON'T WANNA GET HIT WITH ANY STRAY BULLETS!!" (lc)

Mine's never been really exposed to guns...I think she'd make the ride then back out once she got to the range...:hs:

I grew up where firearms are propped behind every door and shooting is a rite of passage...lol. So we'll have to see what happens - I'm thinking about taking her to the range and letting her watch first - so she doesn't panic or feel trapped by the situation.

I just threw down a deposit on a used Sig Sauer P226 .40 - So maybe I can talk her into joining me when I go pick it up this weekend.:x:

Nice. I was actually surprised that my girl had shot many times before and we went to the range once and she did pretty good with mine. She just didn't like the cold temperature there. Tried to tell her that's how most ranges are...

i wish i could shoot like that. my problem is i cant see where i hit the targets, and constantly am changing my grip because of it. i have to shoot with those ones that pop green or orange, or i just wont hit shit... too dark in the range.

She is scared too, I think it's because she's scared of the recoil more than anything. It's only a G19 it's not a fuckin hand cannon.

Besides, I would never encourage her to do something that I thought would put her in danger. She already has really good handling discipline. She will handle the gun whenever, keeps her finger off the trigger, makes sure it's unloaded for herself etc. She just doesn't have the guts to get behind the gun and pull the trigger.

Hopefully her mom and I will knock some sense into her this weekend at the range.
