Took her out the other day and started her off on a .22 rifle and pistol.. She wouldnt shoot the 9mm and wouldnt even stand near me with the S&W500 haha.. That thing kicks like a mule, even with the muzzle break.

    And a pic of the 3 S&W.

Top is the SW500, Middle is the .44mag, bottom is the .357, followed by the corisponding shells.

very cool. My GF went with us last time. She loved the .22 rifles (her dad has then, so shes a pretty good shot) and she liked the .38 special. She wasnt too keen on the shotguns though. They were a bit heavy for her though (Browning semi-auto) should have started her on the pump, but she just doenst like the shotguns.

Its very fun to shoot w/ the GF. thats for sure. Nice guns to BTW, i bet that 500 kicks pretty hard.

Haha.. yeah, the 500 doesnt stay still, thats for sure. I'm about half way through the kick in that shot. You have to hang onto it, but it's fun to shoot.

I was trying to get her to try the 20Ga youth shotgun I had with us but she didnt want any part of that either... She saw me shoot it and decided it was too big for her. Maybe next time...

ah the joys of living in the desert.

Miles and miles to go shoot in and not a soul around...unless its a busy weekend and even then, you only know there are others around because you can hear distant gunfire.

Well not really... They have the damn desert signed like crazy now. It takes me almost an hour to drive out far enough to be able to shoot... And even then, its filled with people. That day there were 6 of us within 1/4 mile of eachother.. It was crazy.

It's great having your girl enjoy shooting as much as you do. My fiancee was given a .22 revolver by her father. So I took her out to the range. She was more interested in shooting my XD40 so I let her. Hell it's least I could do, she bought it for me. After that she didn't want to shoot her revolver anymore.

She's buying me a firearm for Xmas too :wiggle:

Its in phoenix. Gold Canyon actually (dont know if you know where that is or not)

Yeah, the GF was still a little timid, and didnt want to step up quite yet but i think that she'll go out again with me and try the 9mm maybe. I dont want her to get into something she's scared of and have her stop enjoying it. I'd like for her to go with me more. :big grin:

Get some fucking eye protection on.

She probably won't want to shoot with you any more when she only has one good eye left.

My girl would have shot all of those at least once. I think her lacking a fear of firearms is going to cost me lots of money in ammo
I want to get her on my .308 pretty soon:big grin:

Nice Smith collection, redna. I have big frame SW .38, .357, .41, and .44. All nickel plated.

    that sucks.

I'm probably a 30-35 minute drive (only because I moved...I used to be closer) from my favorite shooting spot. Sometimes there are people around, but usually they are in their own spot minding their own business. You'd have to go looking to find them.

Here, as long as you're away from the city and any roads and/or structures, you're good to go. Sometimes a state trooper rolls up just to check on people...sometimes to hop out and do a little shooting if he's got time. The guy on patrol when I've been has always been really cool.

Gold Canyon is just east of Apache Junction... If you follow the 60 freeway out to the middle of nowhere it will be on your left. haha. Almost all of the homes there are 400K+ except for the brand new subdivisions that are down on the bottom of the mountains.
