Took it out of the bag and the batteries were dead. :wtc: Fortunately I had bought spares so it was gtg after I installed the fresh ones.

    25 yards with irons:

25 yards with the Eotech (note this was three separate five shot groups as I was sighting it in):

The iron target is pretty typical of how the gun has always performed, the five that are closest to the bulls eye is where I left it set too. I figured the super short sight radius of the seven inch barrel is why the groups were always terrible, well, that and the fact that the barrel is seven inches long. Man the Eotech made a huge improvement! Better then I expected, plus much easier to shoot. Hopefully the battery thing doesn't happen all the time I store it.

are you shooting prone or standing?

because the iron site shots blow

if you are shooting that at 25yd with iron sites prone, you need to work on your shooting

Standing, it would look kinda silly to be shooting prone with an AR pistol I think.

I have a feeling it's a little more difficult to shoot an AR pistol than an AR rifle. :dunno:

A lot more. Even at 25 yards the post covers up most of the target, especially since those targets ar the size of a standard piece of paper.

Iron sights should be set up so that the shot hit above the front sight. Thus the "post" does not obscure the target. This is called "dotting the i" or "6 o'clock hold"

not Ar iron sights but you get the picture.

Here is another tip for tightening your groups with a dot sight. When shooting slow fire groups for precision index off the top edge of the dot. Don't use the whole dot.

Even still your 25 yard group looks pretty decent to me. I think using the top edge of you dot might shrink the vertical stringing.

Yeah that's how I was doing it. I was referring to when I shoot with irons only.

Put in new ones. IDK why they were dead though, I checked it before I put it away, and I know I turned it off.
