    New to the DSLR thing...any tips / comments / suggestions are welcome!

    The Halifax harbour tugboats....these little bastards help move a unreal amount of containers to/from our ports...

    Yeah....I am having fun with it. :bigthumb:

    I think my favorite is either the lighthouse or the tugboat..... not sure which.

    Yeah...I notice that on a few of my pics. I think I do need a polarizing filter.

    Actually...UV filters reduce haze (I was using a UV filter). I think it is just the lens...pretty soft when it gets out around 300mm. Shot was taken @ 270mm

    Some of the shots are slightly underexpopsed, hazy, and missing sharpness and "pop". :hs: Other than that, not bad man. Keep it up. :bigok:

    Some of the noise is compression....It is only jpeg high not max.

    What camera are you using? And whereabouts did you get it? My old man is turning 65 in a few weeks, and I'm going to pick him up a nice Digicam. And recommendations for locations around here?

    D70... I got it with marriott points because I live in a hotel. If you are picking one up local I would check Future Shop and Staples. Both can have good deals...or you can go to a camera store and pick one up. If you go to the camera store you will tend to spend a little more money.
