We took turns with my 9mm pistol. The whole way there, she complained about how boring it would be, why do we have to go, etc. We got there, I reviewed basic safety rules, showed her how to load the mag, and fire it. We took turns, probably shot about 80 rounds total. I didnt think the recoil was too bad, but shes 4'10, 110 lbs and she said it was "pretty hard". Afterwards, she couldnt wait to go again, and was excited about it. Getting someone into shooting FTW!

Isn't that fat according to OT standards? 60 lbs at 4'-10" would be ideal.

I dated a girl for a while that was 4'10" 90 lbs, another 20 would have made her chunky.

I'm slowly but surely convincing the wife that she needs to go to the range with me at least once... hoping she picks it up from there

I took my wife not too long ago. We shot my GSG-5 (since been sold) and my XD-9SC. Her first shot from the XD-9SC at 25 feet was a fucking bullseye - DEAD center. After that it was all downhill. I'm exaggerating a bit of course, she kept everything inside the circle, but the first shot cracked me up. :o

thinking strongly of selling mine, but it would break my rule of never selling any firearms :hs:

  20. Selling firearms is ok if you use the money you make to buy another firearm. I didn't feel bad when I sold my 1911 to buy Laurel her Remy 700.

don't know what I'd get if I sold it though. Have an almost brand new Blackberry Curve I could sell though too and combine them and buy something. Wouldn't mind getting a decent 1911 to fuck around with. Or maybe a 340PD :naughty:

  22. 340PD FTW. Are there any holes in your gun collection you could fill? (I really couldn't think of a less suggestive way to say that) I mean, a precision rifle, an AR, a plinking .22 rifle, a .22 pistol, various centerfire pistols... you get the idea.

When I see threads like this, I don't even read the content. I just scroll through it really fast to see pictures.

    I am disappoint.

I taught my wife to shoot a few years ago. She likes it. I actually think she likes the idea of having something powerful like a gun in her hands more than actually shooting.

She decided she wanted her own gun, which was okay with me since it gave me an excuse to go buy more guns... for "her".

"Sorry honey, I took your guns to the range again"

only other thing I'd think about is a ruger pistol. have 2 AK's, 3 AR's, a G19/26, etc etc. Plus I've really wanted the PD for a while now. Gah. We'll have to see.
