Tonight my girlfriend dropped my 24-70mm f/2.8L. It was a complete accident and something I could have easily done myself, but I'm so disappointed/angry/sad that it happened. I had just switched lenses and handed it to her to put away. She put the end cap back on it and placed it back into my camera bag. I moved back a few feet to get a different angle and she realized the camera bag would be in the way, so she picked it up forgetting that she didn't zip up the bag and the lens fell out onto the pavement. :wtc: I'm so fucking disappointed! It seems to work, but to what degree at this point I'm still unsure. It has a few small dents on it around the zoom ring making it difficult to turn especially nearing the 24mm range. I'm really not sure just how damaged it is yet.

mount it on a tripod and find something to shoot. shoot the subject at various focal lengths and apertures and look at each photo to see if there are any apparent issues with the focus, colors, sharpness, etc

I'm also pissed at my gf, or Xgf I should say. I was playing with my new photography toy that just came in the mail today and I was trying to assemble it and she was laying in bed saying "come on lets go to sleep" "I'm tired, I have to work tomorrow" and I just kept saying fine then go to sleep. I was soo close to having my new toy assembled and I told her that if she couldnt wait 15 minutes till I get finished that she should go home and go to sleep.. so she did...

  13. I'm kinda liking this dating/not dating relationship. It's making me like her less and less so when we finally decide to be broken up 100% I'll be perfectly content.

Definitely not the Sigma, it was the Canon. A $1,200 lens, jacked the fuck up. :(

There really isn't much to see other than where the zoom ring has a few small dents in it. I hope I'll have some free time this evening to test it out and see what kind of affect it had on it. It sounded like it hit the pavement pretty hard. I heard it hit before I saw it. Everyone was looking at me to see my reaction. It was a struggle to keep my composure, but I did.
