so does it have to be biotine or tech 2000 or can it be any non-alchoholic mouthwash available.

ive looked for either biotine or tech 2000 and have had no luck... any places that would be a franchise that i might be able to find it?

a couple of places i went to about getting pierced just said to use listerine and from what ive read on here thats a bad idea cuz it prolongs the healing process.

    anyone have any ideas?

ps. is it really going to be a big problem that i smoke?

You can dilute Listerine 50/50 with water if you can't find the fancy crap (ask your piercer if they have any to sell you).

Yes, smoking is going to be a bad idea.

none of the places i went to had anything... they just said to use listerine. maybe its a dumb question but is there a reason that you shouldnt use scope or is it not usually mentioned because its less poplullar? scope has less alchohol in it than listerine if i remember correctly so i would assume it would be a better idea.... no? yes?

fuck!... thats the only reply i have to the whole smoking being a bad idea thing. :wtc:

    thanks again!

Scope doesn't have any antibacterial qualities, it is only minty sugar water. You'd be better off just swishing with some salt water (1/8 tsp sea salt to 1 cup water).

The act of smoking is the worst part (not the actual smoke per se). When you purse up your mouth to take a drag it irritates the piercing site. Stick to second hand smoke ;) if you need one that bad.

gotcha, any idea when i could smoke again? i know everyone heals differently but is there a stage of healing progress i should look for? like when the swelling is almost down? or like when i can speak correctly again? i drive for a living and its one of the few things i can do while behind the wheel that keeps me awake... i have vacation till monday morning... just curious really

    thanks for all your help

I would ask your piercer what they recommend. I don't smoke so I didn't have to ask those questions.
