I bought my sigma 10-20 for ~600 a year ago.

they are around 600$ new on ebay from HK... so 699 is probably about right. :dunno:

there are a few second hand ones on there for much less though..

the sigma is a bit more expensive and he can't go lower than what it is. I'd rather buy lenses from aus just so i can have the warranty. I got my d80 from hk and it's a bit scary sometimes

All of the reviews say that the Sigma is a bit better...might be worth the extra $$$. Specially because you are getting an extra 2mm on the wide side.

With a 1.6 crop that is really 3.2mm....

complete change of plan, in a way.

originally i was going to buy the 18 - 200vr, but i have the 18 - 135 kit lens. problem is it needed repairing cos it got dropped by a friend, but it's a cheap fix so i am going to keep it.

now i'm going to buy the tokina 12 - 24, and then later on next year buy a 70 - 300vr or something along those lines.

    alright plan?
