I hear everywhere it's an amazing lens. The only thing I have close to this is my kit 18-105 (which is like saying LA is close to Dallas amirite?)

But seriously. $400 new and free shipping from adorama and B&H?

Going on a D90. Will sell my kit lens if I get this.

    Thanks bros

Don't wanna get on a long wait list that is for Tokina 11-16mm 2.8? :mamoru:

Tokina 11-16 is a better lens all around, but it is $200 more.

i can't see myself needing that lens ya know?

at that range you end up shooting over f/4 anyway. plus it's like $200 more right

Dang, you are fast with replies. :eek3:

Yea it is that much more, but I think edge to edge sharpness is better even at f4 or f8 on 11-16mm.

You thought about Sigma 12-24mm? It's not a constant f4 lens, but it can used on FX if you are thinking about upgrading to FX in the future.

i haven't considered it. i only really saw it on reviews and comparisons.

i don't see myself going to FX ever (right now) just bought the d90 and it's way more camera than i can handle

but i did see lots of people saying they like the tokina more

    now where to get it?

B&H and adorama are both $400 with free shipping

B&H says it comes with the hood, but adorama does not. I'm assuming it does.

I love my 11-16, but I almost never shoot below f11. I would say if focal length suits you then do it. It's built well and damn sharp like the 11-16.

Ironically mine is sharper than any L glass that I've ever shot with.

yeah i hear the canon 10-22 or whatever is the king in that range, but i doubt i'll notice any diff with the tokina. unless i get a shit copy

does tokina put out shit copies like tamron?
