My car.. 2006 chevy cobalt is all screwed up when it comes to the wiring... I mean a wiring harness for a new head unit is 120 bucks...so I decided to keep the factory head unit... anyways... The battery is in the trunk... so I figured why not just run the remote wire straight to the battery and put a toggle switch on it. I installed a LOC from the rear speakers...so basically... this way I would not have to run anything to the front. My question is... would a toggle switch be a bad idea on the remote wire if I do not mind turning the amp on and off in the trunk? Or even if I ran it to the front of the car and had a toggle on it? I just dont want to mess with any of the wiring of the car. :x:

you'll come back to a dead battery sooner or later.. find a switched wire or buy a signal sensing relay type device.

So going to the trunk to turn your amp on and off multiple times a day is more convenient than running one 18g wire to the front?

Well, I really only use it when my son is not in the car... so once a day maybe... but anyways, I ran one already to the front with a switch.:coolugh:

Well, in any case I would still have found accessory underneath the dash. It likely is the same as most other newer GMs as far as location and color.
