Do you have a running total of what you spent in the last few weeks? :eek3:

If I recall correctly, this is a money making adventure for you. What is your subject? Freelance photographer?

This summer I'm hoping to spend a few bucks on gear and do horse/equestrian photos. People will spend mad $ on mediocre photos.

    :eek4: :hsd: All I have is a bag, cheap tripod, 2 x 2GB CF cards, 40D with kit lense, and a 75-300 F/4-5.6.

I will slowly acquire necessary items, but to drop that kind of cash in a matter of weeks = financial suicide for me.

I know the feeling. I was going to go the "slowly acquire gear" route too but I figured that I might as well get 80% of what I'll need to start with, then add to it as I start earning money. Fortunately for me, I have a substantial home equity line of credit that I can tap and pay back on my own terms.

How much do you expect to rake in when you actually get started shooting ?

Hard to say since I won't be doing this full time. Hopefully I should be able to pay for all this gear in a couple of years. It takes time to build up a business.

Full frame sensor. I wanted to be able to make larger prints/magazine layouts. I also wanted my lenses to translate to what I'm use to using with my old 35mm gear.

However, if I ever start shooting sports or race action, I'll probably buy a 40D body.
