So who can spot whats wrong?
Compliance parts or lack there of?
lols I spot an extra pin.
I'm guessing 922r issues.
edit: doh. What is the extra pin? Presumably FA? where is it?
I like how it says 'semi-automatic rifle' but the third pin hole looks like it was done in the original factory.
Furthest FCG pin on the left. Right under the center support and the spot welds.
If you look at the pics showing the left side(if you were shouldering it) you'll notice an extra rivet. Thats where the FA part would go.
hmmm......come to think of it, I was wondering why it looked different on the side from my Romy G setup. Is there any chance that it just has a wierd set of internals? or is it basically ONLY there for FA?
Yeah a bunch of maadi's came in with the 3rd hole drilled from the factory, they welded the rivet in before shipping them here a bunch got sold but were recalled. A friend of mine had one he had to send back.
Excellent eye for detail.
Ohhhhh it's a rivet in the 3rd hole, that makes more sense. still illegal.
The hole there is illegal. Doesn't matter if it's got a weld over it like this one. A little while ago some Century Dragunov or PSLs or something had a tiny outline of a hole and they had to do a recall just because the you could pretty easily see where to drill.
ah yes, I remember that. It was PSLs/FPKs. I WISH century could import true Dragunovs...or even NDM-86s
Yep in the eyes of the ATF if it had a 3rd hole its a machine gun, and once a machine gun always machine gun, rivet, weld over doesnt matter if the hole was once there it'll always be considered a machine gun.
Welcome to one of the dumbest regulations ever conceived.
who bought it
But can you own a FA AK-47 if it's pre-86?
yeah, reg'd pre86 is good to go.
and if you have enough $
ATF is going to come to his house and disrespect his family.
He either didn't explain it right or the person he talked to at RAA is an idiot. Why would a SAIGA w/ the 3rd hole be fine but Maadi's, Norinco's, and Romanians who all had one and were never a machine gun be illegal.
The same reason Chinese SKS' have so many restrictions on them while the others don't. The laws are messed up and cobbled together. I think it is dumb that TT-33 pistols need some whacked out external safety to be imported, while there are plenty of handguns made brand new that don't have them.
