Here's the background of me: Back in my junior year of high school, I had met qualifications for all state lifting. My bench plateaud at 215, looking back on it because my form was shitty and my grip was way too close. When I started lifting again I made sure to widen my grip. My squat was 330, and my deadlift was 375. All this while I weighed a whopping 145 pounds and stood at 5'7. Now, my senior year of high school I started working 40 hours a week bartending. I had no time to hit the gym at all and got really lazy. In August, I moved down here to Charleston where I started attending college. I made a couple changes to myself when I moved down here, namely: 1) I vowed to start hitting the gym hard again 2) I changed my diet around 3) I quit smoking weed (which I did about 5-6 times a day my senior year in HS) So, I started hitting the gym hard when I moved down here. Of course I started off weak but I made steady progress. I worked an upper/lower split 4 days a week. I started reading up on diet for lifting a little bit more and started supplementing protein as well as creatine. I started bulking about a week ago. So tonight I hit the gym feeling really good. I threw on my iPod and started out on a 5x5 set on the flat bench. 95, 115, 135, 155, 175, all with relative ease. Right now I'm 5'9 and weighed in at 158 this morning. I want to stay lean (as I already have a tendency to do so) but I'm bulking up to about 170-175 or so. But tonight I felt like the last few months have actually yielded a pretty good result. I've also yet to do a PR for my lifts. I just wanted to share, since I didn't know who else I could talk to about it who would care How does my 5x5 stack up for my weight?
