I haven't been getting quite the results I wanted with my routine sans diet, so today is my first day counting calories.

    3 oz. Shrimp - 60 c
    1 cup of broccoli - 60 c
    2 oz. carrots - 30 c
1 tbsp chili oil - 120 c (i know, i need to work on this)
    1 tbsp hibachi grille sauce - 40 c

310 total calories. I wanted to add garlic, but it seems as though garlic has a ton of calories. Anyways, it's damn good, but it would have been better over some sticky rice.

Whoops. I thought something was up. This thing I had said 150 calories per serving, I had no idea the serving is that large. Thanks for the info because I love garlic and didn't want to cut it out of my diet.

You were concerned about the calories in garlic when at the same time you were using hot chili oil?

It has water on it, causing a strange reflection. I had just rinsed it off.

Its 1/2 uncooked, about 1 cooked.

    how is that?

5 x that meal = 1550 cals for the day

unless he is < 150 #'s then that is fine for caloric content

I'm 5'10'' 173 pounds. I ended up eating about 1300 calories total yesterday. Should I keep my calorie intake up at 1500, or can I sway as low as 1000? I'm going to be doing 30 minutes on the eliptical and 15-30 minutes of shooting hoops everyday plus heavy lifting 3 times a week. What had happened is I was unable to go to the gym for a month at the same time my mom gave me a fryer so I ended up putting on some weight and softening up. I was at a steady 4 months before this hiatus and have already been lifting for month straight since. Today I have had about 450 calories so far and all I have left to eat is dinner (chicken breat and asparagus) and probably a snack a bit later. Thanks for all the help guys. I'm going to take my pudgy pics today and post my results in a month.

You're right. I check the "serving size" of garlic and it was a cup. WTF. I usually have a couple cloves a day, who the hell eats a cup of garlic?

if you have days where you end up at around 1000 its ok, but in the long run you need to be at 1500-1700. I am assuming you exercise when quoting these numbers.
