    with this: [IMG]

    Instructions:
    Add x amount of rice
    Add x amount of water
    Press button
    Wait 30minutes

Then you have rice to last you for days, or if you prefer fresher rice you can make it every other day. Once it's cooked it stays on "warm" mode to keep it from spoiling, and can stay that way for over a day. They need something like this for chicken breasts.

DO WANT... Why do I feel like a house wife? Price/Where you buy it?

EDIT: At the moment, I just use instant rice... water/rice, tsp olive oil, add to microwave for 3mins and done. Ingredients in instant rice don't look to good for you... going to have to switch to traditional

pretty much. make sure you give the rice a rinse rather than just throwing in water then setting it.

I've considered buying one of these since I cook rice everynight, but it's not a big deal to cook it on the stove and it always comes out great for me. :dunno:

I sort of thought the same way. But I'm white and my family never used a rice cooker. I moved in to an apartment with an asian buddy and it just blew my mind. 10minutes of searching online and I know all I need to know to use one. Cheap, plentiful, healthy carbs.

It depends on the type of rice you buy apparently. Traditionally rice is washed to remove dirt but store bought rice doesn't have much dirt, maybe some pesticides. You use common sense, if it's questionable, wash it, if not, don't wash it.

The 10lb bag of rice I have is sort of sealed plastic bag, inside some ghetto looking burlap bag but it's called "jasmin" rice which is flavoured or scented or some crap. It isn't meant to be washed because the flavour and forementioned minerals can be washed off. It looks clean, so I don't wash it beforehand.

you guys need some asian friends...we'll even do your math hw for you buddy. that rice cooker seemed pretty shitty though.

if you go to 99 ranch or some other asian supermarkets, you'll see some ballin ass rice cookers with digital features, blue leds lights, the works.

you can even get it on amazon nowadays, look at this rice pimp: http://www.amazon.com/Zojirushi-NS-...2?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1217274090&sr=8-2
