im not sure what your point is .. other than displaying your lack of knowledge of overhead lifts. i posted a standing 275x3 strict press from the front. a guy i know that can strict press 300 from the front can do 450 from behind the head with a split jerk.
jesse marunde had a 330ish strict press and put behind the neck over 500 pounds with a jerk.
BTN jerks/push press are the easiest of the overhead lifts once you get it down.
i'm just saying calling him a troll for posting a good video is a little excessive LOL
it just always fascinates me that people have trouble seeing the diff. btwn a BTN split jerk (all legs/technique) vs. a strict press (no technique/all static strength). people are "on my nuts" or whatever because a 300+ strict press is somewhat rare. a 300+ BTN jerk is common amongst amateur OL. not knocking the vid just trying to explain the diff.
BTN jerk stuff is great for explosive training/training the OL but the video does not show that they are statically strong which is what everyones jab at crossfit is.. but im not sure why. crossfitters dont claim to be strong. its good for a general conditioning system but if you are a jack of all trades you will never be good at any one thing. thats what crossfit is.
btw bro i believe most people "hate" on crossfit because it comes across as a holier than thou cult. kind of like why some people hate on westside because thats what it comes across as at times. same with the IPF etc.
there is nothing wrong with crossfit and if i just wanted a lean body that was "athletic" looking and i wanted to be healthy etc with good conditioning thats probably what i'd do.

a 300+ btn jerk may be common with olympic lifters, but it's hardly common for lifters in general. i think crossfit gets labels as too much 'cardio/fitness' sometimes, when they actually do emphasize a lot of heavy lifts
but the people that use it and swear by it are pricks, that's what he means bro

i think you misinterpret why people "hate" on crossfit. first off, i just think crossfit is.. pointless. but thats just me. if you want general health and fitness its great, but who other than the average joe is it good for? athletes? no.. it'd be horrible for athletes because athletes need actual programs not routines that they pick out of a hat. strength seekers? absolutely not.. fitness goals? yes, if your goal is to have a small amount of LBM with low bodyfat. it's great for female physiques, males not so much unless you are more ok with not having much muscle.
second, people seem to "hate" it cuz crossfitters come off as a bunch of holier than thou douchebags, and nobody likes those people. have you actually been to a CF gym? lots of them believe there is no other way.
Truth. As a CrossFit guy and as much I love doing it, I can honestly say that I have distaste for the majority of the CrossFit population.
As far as pointless however, I'd say CrossFit is far more enabling than any program out there.
As someone who has done a 300+lb pushpress/jerk I am not at all impressed. Also, as NUDES pointed out BTN is far easier. Fuck off.
