Rookie here. The reason I'm doing this is because the computer monitor has a better resolution.

How can I do this? Please list what I need and cost involved.

    Thanks

Third parties usually make VGA adapters for the consoles. I had an Interact one for my Dreamcast. Just look around in stores and online, you can find them, they run about 30-50 dollars.

I have a tv tuner card that I can use to hook up my ps2. Only problem is there's a super loud hiss/hum making the game unplayable.. =\

    Search for "Viewsonic Nextvision".

They have two units that sell between $70-150, i believe.

i'm looking at the more expensive one myself. Probably order once i get Splinter Cell.

    Anyone got experience with this?

There is a cheaper one (non digital) for $100, that should fit my needs too.

One thing they don't talk about is the external audio output. Do I plug the speakers into it? Or does the sound still have to flow out of the PC?

    Anyone know?

Do the consoles really take advantage of the higher resolutions of computer monitors? I wouldn't think so. Maybe the Xbox - doesn't it support high def?
