I had a minor tear last week (10 days ago or so). I had an 8g in and it tore slightly putting a double flared 8g in. I went to 14g that day and today I just put a nonflared 8g back. You just gotta do what your body tells you. Mine was only painful for a few days.

I tore mine when I went to a 4ga from a 6ga. I hurt like a mother fucker and was all swollenfor about 3 days, leaking blood and lymph. I think I am gonna give it two months from the time I stretched to the next time.

Nah, I would go ahead and do it. I would say it's a 50/50 chance on whether or not it will do it again. I am waiting 2 months on mine, if I decide to go up to a 2ga.

I'm shocked by how many people are having problems with their lobes at these smaller gauges...

a lot of the reasons are because people are rushing their stretches and not doing it properly.

a stretch shouldnt bleed. if you force the jewelry in all you're doing is tearing your earlobe and irritating your piercing.

My stretch was done by my piercer. She said that I had allowed adequate time since the last stretch. :dunno:

Everyone is different. What works well for some may not for you. Its a good idea to stretch slowly and when it's not tender. Stretching when you get out of a hot shower works well, I'd also recommend lubing it up(neosporin, ky, bag-balm, whatever) and twisting it as you put it through. Yeah, as far as jewelry goes, you can roll up electrical tape; the high heat stuff otherwise it'll leave black shit on your skin)
