This decision is killing me. I have been waivering both ways on an almost daily basis.

On the one hand.. its a piece of shit. There are better guns out there and ammo isnt cheap.

on the other hand.. they want to take it away and ban it.. It looks entirely possible and if the war ends, the ammo prices should go down.

I dont understand how you could be a gun owner and NOT have at least one ar-15...

Ive put close to 5,000 rounds through my bushmaster and ive never, ever had one single malfunction, jam, or misfire. Ever. winchester NATO ammo all its life.

    true story.

If your in a free state ie bayo lug etc is cool build one get a chrome lined flat top kit from del-ton. Then get a stripped lower locally last i remember you are mechanically inclined.

    Outside of that...

Buy one while you can :noes:. Outside of that my M4A2 is fantastic I did however put an accu wedge in there to get rid of receiver play to make the 1000 dollar gun I bought feel like one my only gripe. Outside of that buy one and break it in with a few mags of milspec and then run wolf it won't hurt it.

The better part is mainly service in shit enviroments.

I had one in the amry and sand was a pain in the ass.. Even with chromelined barrels.
If I am going to buy something bc its going to be rare, i would prefer it be something cool

I think it partly has to do with user error sometimes.
ie not taking routine care of your firearms, not cleaning it after use. Using dirty or inferior ammo.
Human error has alot to do with it

I'd like to have an AR but there are a lot of guns that would be more useful/interesting to me. I might build one some day but it probably won't be any time soon :dunno:

So whats all required to be done to a receiver if a ban is coming around the corner? Do all you have to do is buy the receiver or do you have to install some parts? What?

Id like to build my own next time I get an AR. I always wondered what condition those Vietnam M16 parts kits are that Sarco sells. Some are all Colt if you pay the extra price. I guess it wouldnt matter though since a Colt receiver would cost almost as much as the parts kit

Feel lucky you are in a free state. I was going to order a post ban config but it was too much of a pain in the ass.

I wouldn't ever spend hundreds of dollars on a gun I thought was a piece of shit. I put that $750 on a gun that I liked.

Unless its like the kid on the playground saying "slap bracelets and pogo balls aren't so cool....".
