Save the "Arlovski" comments.. No shame in getting KD'd by Fedor..

i did a google image search for this right when i read the thread title :mamoru:

IMO, it will be detrimental to his game. his takedowns have looked like shit for a while, and his stand up is not good. All this is going to do is make him think he can stand toe to toe with some of the strikers at 205 and he's going to leave on a stretcher.
Dude needs to build upon his strengths. Being able to inflict damage from guard is a great ability that not a whole lot of fighters have.

    just my opinion :dunno:

I see him coming back and looking good. I hope so at least. A lot of tough, tough fights for him.

I just hope he doesn't pull a Sherk and become a "pure boxer" that can't do shit.. I hope he just develops a better overall MMA game and comes correct..

He's still got a lot of talent. He's fought Machida better than anyone other than Penn and if his back was 1/3 as bad as he says it was - he's still "got it"..

    Hope he does well

I wonder what Tito has for a reach, I know Sherk is cursed with trex arms which cripples any hopes of effective boxing.

i dont think tito is done but i think the skill set of the people in his division has grown faster than titos skill set to stay relevant. if roach can truly improve tito's standup, then he is certainly moving towards being a more rounded fighter.

if anyone can make him not suck at punching fools its roach.. if he can utilize it to keep people honest his takedowns will be much more effective

This can only be a good thing, just depends on how Tito will take his training and advice. If anything that is his weak point and perhaps working on the subs a little more.

Best case scenario, he'll start to look/fight like Rampage, but not as strong/fast imo.

He's only 34, only had 22 fights professionally and he didn't expand his game because for a long time he didn't need to. Now that there are fighters that are considered undoubtedly better than him, he has to evolve into a more complete fighter.

I think he can do it.

Remember, he should've beat Evans if he wasn't deducted for grabbing the cage and he fought Machida pretty damn good.

And if they do Liddell/Tito again, I'll fucking bombard Dana's twitter. I can't think of a single MMA fan wants to see that shit again. Chuck looks more busted than Tito ever did.

it's not his age so much as his attitude. it seems like it's been a long time since he's been more concerned with talking than fighting. a few months training with freddie roach isn't going to completely evolve his game.

I think the fact that he is back in the UFC and the fact that he has been out for a while has knocked him down a peg or two. I could be wrong but I think he is determined to come back strong.

Uhh... Tito looked pretty good to me in his fairly recent fight with Machida, especially considering he almost choked Machida out cold with a triangle. Now that he has finally had back surgery, he will probably be even better... Nice analysis though. :mamoru:

I dont see training with Freddie Roach as being anywhere near the asset for an MMA guy as it would be for a boxer.
Tito training at a top tier camp and being humbled by those around him would be more impressive to me. :dunno:

I hope he has a great comeback. He's what kept me watching the UFC after the initial shock/novelty wore off of getting to watch people beat the shit out of each other.
