i don't agree with lots of what he said, but i have to  to Titty Ortiz for lots of his commentary, especially what he brings up at the very end of the interview about the UFC not building a relationship between fans and fighters, but rather fans and the organization

Tito isn't innocent either. He's all about the money too. It seems like he was hoping that Pride would offer him huge amounts of money. Why would they? Japan knows nothing of him.

i think tito's fights are some of the most boring out there...but i support what he's doing...taking a stand against the UFC...someone has to do it

yup, but i have to agree that a fighter's shelf life isn't that long, so after they put in all the years that their body can handle, they have to have something to live on thereafter

tito was getting paid a good amount relative to most other fighters, but i think he was comparing his pay to athletes in already-established sports, like boxing and football. even so, what he said rings true with pretty much every single fighter...he kind of was their voice (ironically enough)

Me either. His only submission win was a neck crank. He's the reason for the coinage of "Lay and pray"

These guys definitely aren't the most talented unsigned fighters out there. But you do have to be able to say more than two words on TV. Still, there are some fighters on there that can't seem to speak much at all. Anthony comes to mind. I think he was put on there to attract gay viewers.

But yeah I do agree that the fighters need to be making a lot more money. Their salaries only touch 25% of the live gate. In boxing it's quite common for the boxers to make far more than the live gate because there are money opportunities for the promoters elsewhere.

money brings in talent too, hence why most of the best fighters are in PRIDE

I agree with everything he says, especially about past champions being erased from the UFC because they went on to other things(IE Frank Shamrock, Tito, BJ Penn etc.)...Dana White is all about money, and it shows in the orginization.

Im thinking the only reason he isnt signing the Pride contract is because he knows he will get his ass kicked. Also, he talks about Silva being over rated then goes on to praise Rampage and talks about training with him. Didnt Silva beat rampage poroper twice? :mamoru:

    Fighting style = one thing
    Views on MMA= another

I have to give it to Tito, he hit the nail square on the head. Every point he brought up was legitimate, and backed up. He wants numbers like Chuck Liddel, so hes asking over 100k, thats not unresonable for a main event. I thought he was nuts if he wanted 300k but that rumor was solved too. I got some respect back for Tito.

Does anyone else notice that Tito has a tendency to contradict himself on issues and then change the subject?
