I am friends with the owners of a fairly nice bar/restaurant in downtown chicago, and they need some pictures of their food and restaurant because they are redoing their website. They asked me to do the pictures. I am fine with shooting the restaurant and the building, etc. But I know food is notorious for being really really hard to light. These shots don't need to be breathtaking, but any lighting tips would help.

Im kinding assuming I'll be using mostly the 50 1.8 for the food shots.

    natural light
    back lit or side lit
    fill card from the front/side
find your exposure/AF wtc ahead of time, you want hot fresh food, not wilty nastyness

    don't use flash

a tilt shift lens can be really handy

bounced flash, theres no depth or texture
