    1. When you bench try to push your body away from the bar, not the bar away from you.

    2. When training your lats for the bench, keep your grip med to wide and focus on pulling with your elbows (not your hands).

    3. If you are training your lats for the bench press then train with a full grip (straps or not, grab and squeeze with all fingers).

    4. Number three is not the case if you are training for muscle mass. In this case it may be best to use straps (keep the focus on the lats) and relax the forefinger and middle finger. Try to pull with the last two fingers and yes still pull by leading with your elbows.

    5. A close grip (not so close you tear up your wrists or elbows) for tricep work will always work your bench better than a wide grip. The closer grip will have more effect on the muscles that actually press the bar.

    6. For total tricep mass you will need to work both close and wide.

    7. Close Stance Safety Bar Low Box Squats will solve the majority (but not all) of falling forward in the squat problems.

    8. Grip work is vary hard to recover from (more so for beginners to grip work) so keep it to one or two times per week. Once every 4 days is a better option.

Here's what I'd like to know...

    What consists of a close-grip?

I bench with my pinkies on the rings... should I bring my hands a bit closer?

I just do about a thumbs length away from the smooth part of the bar, works for me. I wouldn't be rolling on 15s if it weren't for close grips!

I found out today at lunch that a good friend of mine is dating a sex therapist. You know I had some questions for her.

Did you know that women love a huge belly when they are on top because they can push their arms against it for better leverage?

or, that a huge boil on your back (or 20) does not bother them rather it makes them feel better because of your imperfections. But, don't ask them to pop them until they make the offer.

There is so much more but I have to collect all my thoughts. It was a very interesting day to say the least.

well, it depends on what you are benching for. There is quite a difference between benching powerlifting style and a normal bench press
