So I'm in college now. it's all fun and all, but I am starving. My meal plan is only 13 meals per week and the cafeteria isn;t even open all the time. For instance, I came back from the gym at 2 today and the cafeteria doesn't open til 5 for dinner. I only have whey protein, tuna, peanut butter, and a bunch of other carbs that I don't want to eat back in the room. I'm trying to bulk, but there's only so much tuna I can eat....it's not exactly the best bulking food w/ 125calories per can.

Order some weight gainer. Or you could just drink a slimfast with your meals.

Good luck, you sound like youre in the same situation as my buddy. He's losing weight despite his best efforts.

Buy those huge cans of salmon, I think they're 600 g or something.
PWO is usually microwaved oats and whey for me, I can get 5-600 cals right there without even having to think, you can drink it if you prefer.
You can buy some of those ramen noodles too and heat it in water in the microwave or something.

werd and learn to cook basic things, get a rice cooker and you can make quite a bit with canned foods and whatnot. ramen + like veggies beans and meat works quite well.

Can you switch to a different meal plan? Are you living on or off campus?

well i was meaning you can make a lot of stuff to go with rice :greddy: but yeah you can make like chili and stew if youre up for it and just store it in the fridge to eat whenever you want. just load up with whatever you want to put in your stew/chili and turn on the rice cooker, be sure to cook it the same way you cook your rice (not sure how different rice cookers work so i wont give you instructions)

so if youre willing to put in the effort, you have an uber nutritious meal that you can store if the fridge and eat whenever you want.

You can think about getting a crock pot too if it's possible. You can make everything in there and it's pretty simple : throw a bunch of veggies, some sort of sauce, meat, cook all night and you're set. You can cook puddings, oats, pasta, jams, desserts, etc.

I lost 20+ lbs that first semester, and it was all muscle mass! Sucked a big one. At the end of summer, before college, my max bench was 245. Went from working out 6 times a week to nothing. I did not touch a weight that whole first semester, and wasn't eating enough. Went back into the gym the second semester, and couldn't even jack up 135 once :eek3: :wtc: Felt so pathetic. At least it came back fast though.

Man im broke myself and i found that you can easily afford to bulk up if you dont mind a bit many carbs. I base my diet on oatmeal and rice, so say 3 times a day rice 3 times oatmeal, plus something on the side that has protein, either a shake, or maybe a can or two of tuna, etc. If you buy the rice and oatmeal in bulk it turns out really cheap, and doesnt take much time to make either.

campbells chunky soup goes well with rice. i like the sirloin burger kind myself. you could also do a few packets of easy mac and throw some tuna in with it. buy some gladlock containers and then "steal" food from the cafeteria and put it in your fridge for later.
