I tip for any (good) work done, what's the harm in it?

I haven't paid for a tattoo in quite a few years but I'd just bring the artist a coffee or some lunch. Something that's appreciated.

I usaully tip to round off the amount. I had a TAT done for $80, I gave a $100. I had a TAT that was $260, gave $300. It is a win win! Sometimes more than 20%, others a little less!

I always tip for touch ups. He's my friend, and time is money.

    Plus he does killer work.

Correct BUT it's not always the artists fault. 99% of the time customers need touch-ups because they didn't use proper aftercare.

    .

I've had more than one person of acquaintance do a shitty job taking care of their stuff, just to turn around and take advantage of several instances of free touch-up work.

I tip more freely for a touch up (as long as it's good work), than I will for paid labor....at least without feeling bad about how much money I just spent.

If its the same artist then no.. But when Ive been at the shop hanging out, people come up there and ask for touch ups for no reason. You cant even see what they are tlaking about unless you have your eye a half inch away from it..
