    Seems like a pretty fair list to me actually. :dunno:

    The only thing I disagree with is picking the Epson R1900 over the Canon Pixma Pro9500. That and having TMAX 400 and a Nokia phone on the list are pretty :greddy:

    c) Nikon also won for Best Professional Lens: Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 14-24mm f/2.8G ED. do u know how many canon shooters woudl shit their pants for that kinda wide angle?

    Right, because the focus issues and bloated price tags are just epic features. :rofl::rofl:

    That being said, claiming that Nikon "cleaned house" is just retarded. Canon and Nikon leapfrog one another due to product development cycles. Next year Canon will probably have more gear on the list than Nikon and then people will say "ZOMG! Canon pwnz joo!" and that will be bullshit too.

    yea, the price tags and problems are obviously issues.

    but i thought the development cycles of the cameras lined up between canon and nikon fairly well this year? both introduced their new entry level cameras this year, and their 2 top models this year as well.

    Product development != Product launch

    Full product development can be 18-36 months for these cameras, that means starting from a blank sheet of paper to finished product takes that long. However, the market isn't going to wait 36 months between D-Rebel launches, so there are intermediary launches with upgrades to some features. Think 20D to 30D, and the 40 D was the full redesign. Once the product is designed, upgrading the sensor or other sub-system component is relatively simple and doesn't require significant R&D resources. Thus, manufacturers effectively get two products to launch out of one development cycle.

    As for launches though, the pro models were introduced last year. In fact, the 1D Mark III was announced 14 months ago. Take a look at this and notice that the launch cycle goes 1DMII > D2X > 1DMIIn > D2Xs > 1DMIII > D3 (look at the dates) with about 6-12 months in between launches.

    Each manufacturer watched the others products and then adjusts feature sets to either release an intermediary product or change the feature set of a camera in full blown development, in order to leapfrog the competition.

    Also take a look at the XTi > D40 > D40x launches. Two months after the XTi launched, Nikon dropped the D40, which got killed by the XTi and other low end bodies. Nikon then quickly released the D40x to catch up.
