Timed shut down, possible?

    How can i get my pc to shut down in XX mins?regardless of whats running?


    Id really like to know.

    Im downloading some big files right now, and i want to go to bed and leave it to download, but i dont want it to be left all night.


    any ideas?

    Yeah, PowerOff has a remote shutdown feature too. Its fun to throw my little sisters computers into standby.

    On a side note, if you only want to do this strictly after large downloads there are download utilities that close programs or hang up or shutdown after the download has completed. Some are bulletproof, flashget, and/or getright.

    That was mandatory if you had dialup - go to bed with 3 hours to go but without the disconnect/shutdown, you'd add another 5 hours (okay like 9 hours in my case - I'm just that lazy :big grin:) of time onto your ISP bill. I used Getright with good success. Other benefits included segmented downloads which really did make things faster.
